Blog:What can’t coffee do?
Coffee.
Do we have your attention now? This miracle elixir is consumed daily by over four-fifths of the adult population in this U.S. alone. According to USA Today, that’s an average of three cups a day per person, or 587 million cups.
You already know that the caffeine in your favorite java makes you alert and feel more prepared to start your day. When your energy begins to run out in mid-afternoon, rest assured that another cup can help reliably get you through that fifth team meeting of the day at work. But recent findings have revealed that coffee’s welcome attributes are not limited to just keeping us awake.
Medical News Today reports that vigorous exercise can reduce the central nervous system’s ability to drive muscle function, including eye movement. But a recent study has revealed that drinking coffee while working out at the gym, or while cycling or performing other strenuous exercise can reduce eye fatigue that normally accompanies a rigorous workout session. This could potentially reduce the risk of accident or injury.
We’ll raise a glass – or a cup – to that.
