A consumer pilot test and academic study has just been launched for a device that, when attached to your eyeglass frames, can detect and report health information such as number of calories  burned, steps taken, and overall activity level at any given time.

And recently, prototype eyewear – called Level – has been introduced, which includes the digital tracking device already embedded in the frames. The new technology is a welcome and necessary tool for many who do not receive the healthcare checkups and/or treatment they need, and could actually serve as advanced warning announcer if health problems begin to occur.

And if that’s not enough, there’s a feature that helps you find your glasses when you’ve lost them.
